Vision Center Purpose

 

The Purpose of the Vision Center is to provide a central focus for the System, provide as much commonality in design and marketing, and guide its Vision.

  • Establishes a Cross Company/Industry Steering Committee to help guide and focus the Initiative

  • Strong opportunity to leverage off of one or more Universities (public/private sector cooperation)

  • Enables Vision and Innovation - to grow the capabilities and keep the system evolving as new technology and ideas emerge

  • Creates a Joint Business Development, Marketing, Sales, and Lobbying Arm for the Initiative

  • Provides Joint Legal Services – bilateral and general NDAs, system warranties, sales, and general reviews of contracts and released material

  • Coordinate Joint Cross Company/Industry Activities

  • Provide a shared Location for presentations, materials, training, and demonstrations

  • Provide a shared Interoperability Lab for development and upgrade testing

  • Provide (online, Center, and remote site) training for Developers, Integrators, and End-Users

  • Provide a Central IT Infrastructure Site for Commercial Product and Development Systems and Data

  • Develop and supply low cost systems to support demos, training, integration testing, and development

  • Develop and sell Pre-Packaged Systems and Reference Models for a variety of US and International Government and Commercial Applications

  • Create site guidelines for different applications

  • Provides open SW and HW development kits to aid in the development of devices and features, as well as encourage innovation in this area

  • Provides low cost Internationalization Services for applications and devices

Teaming and Leveraging

  • The System is made up of Building Blocks that can be created by a single company, subcontracted, or leveraged off development by many companies across many industries

  • Different configurations of the system, supporting different groups of individuals and specific areas, could be supported through specialized integrators

  • Universities could play big parts in the development, test, and integration of several parts of the Systems (e.g. Identity and Information System, General Object Interfaces and Methods, Medical Apps and Devices, Legacy Gateway(s), Disaster Relief, Adaptive Exam Decision Trees, Demo/Test Lab, Internationalization Services, etc.)

  • There are a lot of companies that existing technological focus and applications that can be incorporated as they are, or modified to fit into the system
