The System is designed with the Standards, Guidelines, Tools, and the required Deliverables from the Developers to create supportable plug-and-play systems that support Integration, Testing/Certification, Training, and Demonstrations. They would be portable and low cost for developers, customers, and integrators to have their own or they can remotely log into a remote system (including systems located at the Center). With record and playback features, having the actual devices and services is not required, and custom scenarios can be created for specific purposes.

Since most of the interoperability is common, the System also provides most of the Test, Training, and Demonstration documentation and procedures. With the deliverables and common features, new devices and services can be plugged-in or swapped.

Note: As with the other features of the System, these features are Objected Oriented and support Nationalization and Localization for regional language, culture, and other differences.

Interoperability Lab

  • Interoperability Lab Benefits

    • Testing of developer devices and services for interoperability and conformity to the standards

    • Verifies system and common updates, and new features before rolling them out

    • Finds cross system issues early, providing fewer issues in the field

    • Assist in the reproduction and resolution of cross system bugs and investigations

    • Efforts can be leveraged to provide equipment, tools, and material to support training, demonstrations, development, integration, and end-user products

    • Internationalization and Localization verification

    • Supports Testing of Common Elements and Features

  • Supports Interoperability Testing

    • Onsite at the Center

    • Developers or End-Users (with their own Custom Systems) can remotely connect to the Center to test

  • Interoperability Lab Capabilities

    • Testing of a new device or Feature

    • Test updated or changed software or configuration for a device against the system

    • Testing against new upgrades of the overall system (unit test of devices or new services, system test of common elements, and standard integrated configurations)

    • Testing against new end-user devices (tablets, phones, PCs, operating systems)

    • Evaluation of reported bugs

  • Interoperability Testing

    • Onsite at Center

    • Developers or end-users remotely calling into the Center to test their devices or changes

    • Packaged systems (with test plans and procedures) for a Remote Test Bed

  • Capabilities

    • New, updated/changed, new SW/configurations for a device

    • Testing against new upgrades of the overall system (unit test of devices or new services, system test of common elements, and standard integrated configurations)

    •  Testing against new end-user devices (tablets, phones, PCs, operating systems)

Training

Training leverages off of the same features as the System-in-a-Box development, test, and demonstration systems. This leverages off of on-line help, common documentation (installation, user guide, troubleshooting, etc.), common test procedures, and Interoperability Lab to create online or onsite operational and situational training

  • Uses “System in a Box” product  for local and remote training

  • Uses High-level Test Plans, Procedures, and Emulators for the development of

    • Installation Training

    • System Verification Training

    • End-User Training

    • Support for including devices locally from multiple locations

    • Emulators and preprogramed scenarios to emulate alerts, data, reports or selected devices and services

Types of Training

  • Onsite Interoperability Center Training (classroom and lab)

  • Remote Site (customer, developer, integrator, etc.) online training

  • General online Canned or Interactive Training

  • Custom configured onsite or online systems for specific training (provides specific end-user training, training for new employees, and system upgrade training)

Customers

  • Developers

  • Integrators

  • Evaluators

  • Customers (individuals, Small Call Centers, hospitals, clinic, doctor/staff, community outreach, emergency personnel, service providers)

Demonstration and Trade Show Services

One of the best ways of selling a product is to let people see what it does and how it can help them, and give them some hands on time. This basically uses the same System-in-a-Box as development, test, and training.  This can be done at the Center, taken to a Tradeshow, or taken to a customer site. It is envisioned that this also accompany Slide Decks and video, that can show its benefits and use.

  • Vision Center based demonstrations (can be customized)

  • Support for remote demonstrations (applications and telemedicine)

  • Coordinate and sponsor general industry tradeshows and conferences

  • Support member requested tradeshow support

  • “System in a Box” loan or rental for Member demonstrations, tradeshows, and conferences
