Part of your whole Health, is having a plan to deal with Disaster, Outage, and other Emergency situations that you need to prepare for.

 There are many unplanned things that can interfere with your life. Some events you get advanced notice for, and some you don’t.

  • Power, sewer, water outage

  • Earthquake, flood, fire, mud slide, tidal wave, tsunami

  • Epidemic/pandemic

  • Incapacitation/Stroke/Severe Illness/Death

  • Stuck in another area

 

There are several things that you can do to be prepared to best cope with a Disaster or Outage… and the System is envisioned to help create and maintain it.  The basic steps are to:

  • Create a Plan (including workdays, weekdays, when you are not in the home, your kids not being home, you being incapacitated, etc.)

    • Get (or update) things required for the Plan

    • Train/notify people of the Plan

    • Have the plan accessible in a Disaster or Outage

    • Update the plan

  • Download and maintain APPs that help in a Disaster or Outage

    • Surviving an Outage/Disaster AAPPs

    • First Aid APPs

    • Community Outage and Disaster Aid

  • Download and Maintain the Disaster and Outage Plan and Services Available in your Area

  • Execute Your Plan

 

Emergency Plans need to be updated and there are many things in your life that could require that you update your plan.

  • Moving

  • Different living arrangements

  • Special needs

  • Personal contacts moving away or changing

  • Location of Assets

  • Changes in Power of Attorney/Living Will

 

The System is envisioned to do a lot of this work for you and guide you through any additional information or decisions that might need to be considered or addressed. The System will:

  • Prepopulate some of the information from your profile and include any applicable template data

  • Walk you through creating Plans for many different Scenarios

  • Automatically detect when changes could require changes in the plan            < “Walk Me Through It” APP >

  • Recommendations for things you might want to do (cloud storage backups, safe deposit box, Living Will/Health Care Proxy, battery backups, first Aid Kit, Permission Slips, use a Public ID Sticker, designate a guardian, etc.)

  • Automatically download and update General and Regional Disaster/Outage APPs

  • Automatically forwarded applicable parts of your plan to your contacts, and store the information in their applications for simple access

  • Provide a Summary List of things you need to do, get, and store

 

It is envisioned that this will be part of the planned System Disaster Recovery/Contingency  Planning Services.
